Project Beginnings

Sedona, Arizona, United States
The original idea came from a woman we read about, who lost her son Ben. His mother, Jeannette Maré, began fashioning bells as a therapy at first and then as a tribute. Twice a year they are hung around Tucson, with a note inviting those who find them to take them and let them serve as a reminder to spread kindness. It was kindness, after all - simple, everyday acts of human kindness - that had helped Maré through the hardest days after Ben died. You are welcome to leave comments on where your charms “found” you and what it meant to you. You can also contact us at CharmedSedona@gmail.com or at Charmed Sedona on Facebook.

Soooo busy we forgot to post for two days!

May 20th – today nine of us met for our second assembly play date!  We laughed and enjoyed each other’s company while preparing another fifty charms.  Even though we don’t have as many charms made as we’d hoped prior to giving them to the community…we decided that tomorrow would be our first release.  Why?…because what better way to counteract the fear of major earthquakes and the end of the world than spreading kindness.   Cleveland Armory said it best: “What this world needs is a new kind of army – an army of the kind.”

May 21st – after ‘hiding’ (in plain site!) our charms around town we all got together to celebrate how wonderful it felt to pay-it-forward and spread kindness.  Even before we had all finished hanging our charms we received our first hit to our blog saying that a charm had been found – we all let out a cheer. Some of us were even lucky enough to walk around a corner to see two women discover their charm.  Seeing and hearing their excitement made us giddy.  Now we’re all counting the days until next Friday when we can get together to make more charms!
